Mission Statement

The mission of Sunborne Legacy is to have fun and progress in a mature, drama-free, tight-knit setting. Our guild is based on friendship, commitment, maturity and the deep rooted desire to roleplay within the World of Warcraft game.

Guild Information

--OOC
The Sunborne Legacy is a Heavy or Fulltime Roleplay Guild located on the Moon Guard server.  We are a Blood Elf only guild.

--IC
Lady Yvaynne Tyl'Arien returned home to Silvermoon City to find that everything about the life she once knew.  So many dead and lost, including her family, haunted the memories of the survivors.  The chains of addiction to fel crystals wrapped around the hearts of the people try to drag them down.  An absent prince who doesn't seem to care enough for his people to return and lead them to reclaim the sunwell and the lands that the scourge has claimed.  The path of the Quel'dorei is now gone and broken.  The path of the Sin'dorei will lead them all to destruction.  A new path must be forged - a path that will lead their nation and their people out of the darkness and back into the light.  With a new path - a new name - The Sunborne or the "Bele'dorei" (sun elves) are committed to the rebuilding, reclaiming, and renewing of their people's glory as well as forging a strong future.

Code of Conduct

=Respect

--Respect Leadership
We pride ourselves in being a tight-knit group, so please treat each other like family. This includes being respectful toward and about any guild leadership. If you have issues with someone in a leadership position, please do not take it up with other guild members. Instead, immediately bring your concerns to the leader in question or another appointed guild officer.

--Respect other Players
General respect for all is a good policy and we expect it of those within our guild.  We expect that all normal respect and ettiquette will be observed at all times, with all players, regardless of what offenses they may have committed against you.  We ask that player limitations in roleplay, as well as their preferences in language and sensitive topics be respected just as you would wish yours to be.  We believe we have mature players who are capable of being tolerant, and respectful to all players in the game.

--Respect Roleplay
Roleplay is the central focus of this guild.  It will always be so.  Joing the Legacy means that you are stating you wish to place roleplay as a priority as well.  We ask that you are in character whenever you log into your Legacy character(s).  If you have a need to kill something or play ooc, this is what out of guild alts are for.  We pride ourselves on our quality of roleplay and we expect that all guild members will uphold this standard and image for the rest of the roleplay community.

=Integrity

--Our Reputation
We are very proud of our guild and what we stand for, and we expect every member to feel the same. Do not do anything that can be traced back to you or our guild that could lessen our image. When you are in game or posting in forums with Sunborne Legacy as your guild tag, you are acting as a representative for the guild. Please avoid being whiny, annoying, problematic, or disrespectful in these situations. Once one of our members makes the Legacy look bad, people will assume that all of our members behave like that. Not only does it hurt your reputation, it hurts the guild’s reputation as a whole, and hurts the reputation of all guild members.  We ask that you represent us in quality roleplay as well as in player conduct and your ability in game to play the role your class and spec should within a group.

--Honesty
This goes without saying.  We respect the rules of the game, and ask that all members do as well.  We also ask that you own up to your mistakes rather than deny them.  It's easier to forgive those who step up than those who dodge.

--Self-Reliance
Do not harass or beg other guild members for items, money or power leveling. It is expected and perfectly acceptable to ask others for help as long as it is in a polite and respectful manner. If no one is available help you, please do not continue to badger.

=Policies

--Activity
Being active does not only apply to logging into the game. It is also extremely important that you are active on the guild website. There are often important discussions, news, and scheduled events that are only available on the website. We consider activity on the website to be very important to your membership, and you should make an effort to log into the forums as often as you can so that you don’t miss crucial guild information that you would miss otherwise.

--OOC Channel
Our OOC Channel is an area for members of the guild to gather and communicate on a player to player basis while in-game.  We welcome alts as well as friends of those in the channel so long as they can respect everyone within the guild and channel as if they were a member themselves.  We ask that if anyone speaks up communicating they are uncomfortable with the topic or the manner of speach, that you honor their reasonable requests to change topics or tone it down.

--Guild Chat
Guild chat is exclusively considered In-Character.  The only exceptions to this rule is to link items.  Doing so must be noted in OOC brackets so that everyone else is aware it is a link and not to be an item mentioned In-character.  Everything in this channel will be treated as though your character said it, not you.

--Triple Gquit
We understand that there reasons to possibly quit and rejoin, though they are few and far between.  Thus to accomodate a few of these but maintain a strict rule on whimsical in/out door members, the policy has now become 3 Gquits, are final and that character will not be welcomed back.  Use these wisely for whatever reason you need.

=Issues of Concern
Any issues of concern whether from within the guild or without, need to be addressed privately through contacting one of the officers of Sunborne Legacy directly and privately.  We do not tolerate drama, but we do take concerns and issues seriously.

Recruiting & Membership

--Recruiting - The founding members of Sunborne Legacy have known each other from other experiences within World of Warcraft and have come together to create a close knit guild.  We do not openly recruit, but we do inform others about our guild and who we are.  Should anyone be interested in membership, we ask that you fill out the application here on the website to the left.  It is simple and fast.  That will tell us if you have the potential to fit in with the members of Sunborne.  From there we will contact you in game.

--Blood Elves Only Please - due to the lore and history of the guild, it doesn't make sense to have other races as members, but we are open to the idea of alliances with other guilds and even individuals.

=Requirements for Application

--Age
Due to a desire to seek maturity in our players, we ask that the player themselves be age 18 when applying for membership for one of their characters.  There may be instances where exceptions are granted for players who are capable of acting in a mature fashion beyond their age.

--Level
We like to be able to use the Armory feature to track our guild members progress as well as membership in general and so we ask that all characters who are applying for membership are level 10 or above.  We also feel that you will be more likely to hold onto a character you've spent some time on rather than one you can delete on a whim.

--Process
Applying for membership is in two parts.  The first being that you fill out the short application questionaire here on the site, and the second, if you are eligible based on your questionaire, is an In-Character interview to determine your roleplay ability and standard.  We welcome beginner roleplayers so long as they have a real desire to learn and to function in a fulltime roleplay situation.  For many beginner roleplayers the constant roleplay can be a little daunting, but we have no issue with teaching those dedicated to learning.

--Roleplay
You must either confess to having roleplay experience, or a desire to learn how to roleplay coupled with the understanding of what roleplay is.  We require a great deal of roleplay within the guild both in-game and on the website both.

=Expectations of Members

--Roleplay
This should go without saying really.  We are a roleplay guild.  We expect our members to know how to roleplay or be in process of learning, understand the general roleplay ettiquette, obey the standards of polite roleplay, and to be in character all of the time they are playing their Legacy Character(s).  We expect that within half an hour of logging into the game that every character will make an appearance in-character within the guildhall if there is any other member of the guild on at the same time.  (naturally it would be pointless to do so if you are the only one there.)  We expect quality roleplay meaning that the Line of separation between player and character remain intact and observed, and that the practices of sloppy roleplay and god-modding, and meta-gaming be avoided.

--Activity (site & game)
It is expected that you will be active in-game on your character, as well as on the website.  This site is designed to house a lot of information and the ability to communicate and coordinate with one another.  It is part of the guild experience here and we expect every member to register on the website and to use it frequently.  Characters who are inactive for 1 month or over in-game without explanation will be removed from the guild.  Characters who have not registered on the site within the first week will also be removed from the guild.  We understand that life happens and we cannot always play the game.  Real life comes first.  Should you find yourself in a situation where you will not be able to log into the game or be active, we ask that you let an officer know either thorugh the forums or in-game what the situation is so that we may set your character on Hiatus.  Characters on Hiatus will remain with the guild for a six months in statis before they will be removed.

--Mods/Addons
It is helpful to know what the characters look like beyond the in game representation that is somewhat generic for all characters.  Thus we ask that you use one or both FlagRSP2, and MyRoleplay addons and fill them in with information appropriate to that addon.
It is not required, but certainly helpful to us and to you to use the profiler addon provided by guildlaunch to update your character on the website.

--Price for Crafts
Exploitation of members for pure profit with unreasonable demands or prices for crafted or farmed items or services is absolutely prohibited.  We function as a family and therefore will treat each other as a family.

=Benefits of Membership

--Comeraderie
It is anticipated that we will all make friends with one another as we play together and interact.  You are only asked to give what you feel comfortable giving, but many here have open hearts, ears, shoulders, and are willing to make friends on an OOC basis.

--Quality Roleplay
We hold ourselves to a high standard of roleplay utilizing the lore and history of Azeroth and Draenor provided by Blizzard, and in creating probable and understandable characters.  We interact on a regular if not daily basis and have many fun guild meetings and events.  If at any time you hit a point in roleplay that you need help with a storyline or need ideas - we are more than willing to help and do what we can.  We uphold the typical and well known roleplay ettiquette.

--Mature Players
We pride ourselves on having players with experience and maturity and who will treat everyone with respect and understanding.  We do not under ANY circumstances tolerate drama whether eminating from OOC issues or IC issues, or issues that cross the barrier between character and player.

--Community Aid
Part of any family of players is helping one another whether it mean through instances, questing, professions, or whatever can be done.  It is to our benefit to help our characters progress and strengthen the whole.

--Dedicated Officers
The officers of this guild have been chosen for both their roleplay ability and experience as well as their level-headedness and approachability OOC.  They are there to listen to your issues and help you resolve them in or out of character.  They bring with them a collective of experience, ideas, and strengths.

--Bank Vault & Tabbard
We have an ever expanding vault of items that can be used by members when needed to progress their level, their professions, or to benefit another guild member.  The funds of the guild are there as well to be used wisely, but for the members of the guild.  (We ask that no funds or items go to alts or chars that are not in the guild)  We also have a stylish tabbard that we have designed to represent us as a guild, and what we stand for.  Wearing this tabbard proclaims that you are acting as a part of the guild and that you will uphold our standards and reputation.

We may not be the largest guild out there - but we don't want to be.  We focus on quality not quantity, and making everyone feel as welcome as we can.
