The Story of Sunborne Legacy

Previous to the expansion "The Burning Crusade", the Sunborne or Tyl'Arien family lived in their palacial estate within the walls of Silvermoon City - the capitol of Quel'Thalas and the realm of the High Elves.  Lady Yvaynne's father served the Convocation of Silvermoon as one of it's esteemed representatives and of high noble blood.   He helped to rule all of Quel'Thalas in conjuction with the entire Convocation of  Silvermoon and the dynasty Sunstrider family.

Everything changed the day that Arthas and his scourge burned through their beautiful lands and scarred the lands, the hearts of the people, and nearly eradicated an ancient and powerful civilization with his desire to claim the powers of the Sunwell for his dark purposes.  Lady Yvaynne lost her entire family to this assault, including her distinguished father along with four other members of the Convocation.  As the soul remaining member of her once high noble house, Yvaynne barely escaped with her life from the city.  Gravely wounded by a dagger meant for her father - it took her months to recover.

Upon her return to the city, she was devastated to see the destruction, the lives lost, and the scraps of what remained of their once incredible city, empire, and civilization.  Grieved deeply over this loss, both personal and integral to every remaining member of her race, Yvaynne was motivated beyond the selfish desires of a spoiled daughter of a noble house.  She restored her home and began to use it as a headquarters for the cause of her people and finding a path to the destiny they rightly deserved.

Slowly, others who felt as she did began to fill the emptiness within the spacious Sunborne Estate.  Yvaynne shaped them, organized them, and motivated them into an order determined to continue in hope and to find the correct path back to their noble glory as a people.  Her goals were threefold:

1)  To reclaim the lands and possessions they had lost including the Ghostlands and the powerful Sunwell.

2)  To restore the city and the people to the glorious and powerful empire they once were and beyond.

3)  To fight back the enemies of the Sin'dorei people - Arthas the Lich King & the Betrayer Kael'Thas Sunstrider.

With the help of those who felt as passionately as she did about their home, their people, and their future, she has shaped the Legacy she wishes to leave with the world as the Legacy of the Sunborne House.  These brave souls now take on her name and work towards this mutual cause against Tyranny and destruction.

Sunstone & Sun orbs

Upon the Dais in the Great Hall sits an elegant stone pedestal supporting a large floating golden orb that hums lightly and glows brightly with golden energy. Various rays and vines of line weave about the circular sphere. It’s power comes from being created before the Sunwell was corrupted by using the deep flow of the arcane magic within it. It’s purpose is the central hub for the orbs created from it’s original size.

The carved orbs are small in size, around the size of a large marble or smooth round stone. They appear to be miniatures of the large stone with the same glow and energy hum in a smaller amount. When near the larger stone their powers recharge and they glow more brightly.

The purpose of the Stone & Orbs are to facilitate a few different functions. They act as a hearthing device, bringing the user to where the original stone sits in Sunborn Hall, as well as a communication device, using the main Stone as the hub to connect. ((This means whispers and Party Chat should you wish to RP these ways.)) The Arcane energy stored within the stone and orbs also act as homing beacons when activated in times of trouble.

Due to Sunborne Halls being sealed beyond the reaches of most of Silvermoon in the section of the city that is sealed off to the west of the Bazaar, the only way to enter the Hall is by a summons that the guards will recognize as Lady Yvaynne’s, or by Sun Orb to teleport directly into the main Common Hall ((Guildchat & Forums)).

One other side effect of the Orbs (which may be worn around the neck, or stowed in a small pouch anywhere on one’s person, is that due to the arcane magic it was created with, it has a slight soothing effect upon the wearer as regards any possible withdrawl or cravings for the lost feed of Arcane magic from the Sunwell from which the orb was created.

Upon invitation to Sunborne Legacy, Lady Yvaynne gives each new member an orb so that they may access the Halls at any time they wish.

Guild chat is ALWAYS considered In-Character. This is a constant chance to Role-Play. Please reserve player to player chatter for the guild's official OOC channel - 'Suborneooc'.

SUNBORNE HALL

Sunborne Hall, previously known as Kael'Tiranor Palace, home of Lady Yvaynne's esteemed family, was damaged, but not entirely destroyed when Arthas and his entourage of Scourge and Betrayers marched through Quel'Thalas leaving a more than palpable scar in the hearts and lands of the Sin'dorei. It sits just inside the gates of the damaged portion of Silvermoon City. The only access granted by the Lady Yvainne herself or one of her endeared Advisors. This magical sun orb, created by ancient magic, and harnassed energy of the sun, will allow the character to enter the Hall and interact with others in Sunborne Hall (Guildchat).

Sunborne Hall is a physical representation, not a mindlink, nor an avatar presentation of characters. Role-Play takes place as if characters were physically present in the Hall itself.

How do I reconcile what my character is currently doing at the same time?

You may assume that each takes place slightly off timing from each other, and re-arrange the chronology of your character's day very slightly, or you may find another way to do so. It is in your hands, be creative! As a physical place versus a mindlink idea, connection between face to face Role-Play and Guildchat Role-Play generally should not happen, but actual game play can allow for dual Role-Play possibilities. Your character is not always present in the Hall, but we encourage this to be seldom if at all.

We do not spend every hour of our day in Azeroth so there is maneuverability within the timelines of our characters.

What does the Hall look like? What possibilities exist for creative Role-Play?

Sunborne Hall belonged to Lady Yvaynne's highly esteemed family. Her house was one of seven chosen to represent the Elven community in the Convocation of Silvermoon, the ruling and govening body of all the Blood Elves previous to the Attack on Silvermoon. As such a home to an esteemed family of such high standing, the Hall, albeit still in slight repair, is ornate, very spacious, and includes living quarters for all those who wish it.

A kitchen with servants still Loyal to the family itself is functional, and a stocked larder beneath the kitchen in a Cellar houses a fine wine selection, as well as other spirits.

The Courtyard is the first portion beyond the gates and houses a small garden area with trees and flowers, benches and fountains much like most of Silvermoon City itself.

Within the Great Hall, there is room for nearly anything to take place. The large room houses a dais at one end where it seems a small table and three large chairs once sat. Now it houses a sturdy desk in one end, and a larger table for multiple purposes in the center area. There are carved marble pillars that adorn the Hall in two long rows along the walls. A few book cases stand in the Great Hall, but most remain in the Library portion of the former palace. Tall Arm chairs, ornate and of the highest quality, as well as love seats and lounging chairs of various nature now occupy the walls between pillars. There is always a table of refreshment with a selection of drinks and various light items to eat. Voices tend to carry very well in this large chamber if spoken loudly but whispers are hard to even notice.

Just behind the dais portion of the Great Hall is the Inner Sanctum. Only the Lady and her Advisors have attunement to this area and it is where all the discussion and decisions are made regarding Sunborne Legacy. This area is represented in-game by the Officer's channel. It houses a large ornate table with seven chairs around it.

Not all portions of the palace have been repaired, and thus there are areas that could be renovated for other purposes as the guild sees fit.
